SOLDIERS FIELD VETERANS MEMORIAL

This large comprehensive memorial consists of a concept of concentric circles representing a time frame of 1850 -2000.  One hundred feet in diameter, the interior wall contains a chronological history of the military and local involvement with a series of paragraphs of text and maps.  The exterior side of the wall consists of a pictorial – graphic mural representing action elements of each of the major wars from the Civic War to the Persian Gulf War.  Over 2500 names of those who were killed during war time are listed on the taller Wall of Remembrance.  Over 4200 veterans’ names and military information are recorded on individual granite pavers, which line the walkway and direct the flow through the memorial.
