STOCKWELL Marker

Steven Stockwell was a world-renowned mural painter. He created many of the country’s most exciting examples of grand scale tromp-l’oeil and painted architecture. His wife wanted his memorial to reflect his artistic ability. The challenge was to transfer a grand scale tromp-l’oeil painting to the small canvas of a cremation memorial. Restricted in size and color by cemetery regulations, Mrs. Stockwell decided on a detail of lilies on an abstract background from one of her husband’s murals.
