A local Pastor of St. Pius X Church kept having reoccurring dreams of Father Mychal Judge, a Catholic Priest who was one of the first killed while performing last rites to fallen firefighters during the 911 attack on the World Trade Center. The Pastor, who conducted the fund raising in his own parish, commissioned the memorial with its larger than life bronze sculpture by Tim Schmalz, Sculptor depicting Father Judge's body being carried out of the World Trade Center by New York City Firefighters.
