The Shannon family chose the Celtic Cross for their family because of their heritage and faith.  Mrs. Shannon, realizing the Celtic Cross is the symbol of eternity and emphasizes the endlessness of God's love as shown through Christ's sacrifice on the Cross, would not even consider any other memorial tribute.
